i am planning to sell my 24-105L Canon lens. The reason why i sell is that i dont use zooms lens anymore, and may planning to buy another prime lens.
I bought it last year, rarely used and its like new, so its in a mint condition. People who are interested please drop me a line through my e-mail. Thanks. Evren |

Go for it, Evren! That 24L is a versatile beast for sure. Maybe more than the lovely 35...

Hi Evren,
Primes? Didn't you say those are for amateurs? :) Well, I am loving my new prime set up and I haven't had any problem with it while on assignment... it makes me shoot more deliberate. Now, the 24mm f/1.4 is very nice lens, but at 1.4 it is not very sharp, that's my only complaint. I sent some of the primes back and upgraded to the 35mm f/1.4... it hasn't arrived yet but I hear incredible things about it. If you don't need something as wide as 24mm, I would consider just the 35mm. Good luck. Narayan |

I would be very interested to have your opinion on the 35/1.4 sharpness because I might be the only one here, but from a test image Francis had sent me, its sharpness didn't impress me much at 1.4, especially in the sides and corners... nowhere the consistency like a summilux ASPH or even an old summicron. |

@Mario:
around 900 $ i guess.. @Narayan: i told you in your "Nikon for sale" thread that i used all of those prime Canon lenses, remember? please have a look what i said; i am pasting it for you: ;o)) ".. Canon: 24 1.4: a good lens Narayan, but quite soft at wide open.. so its not as versatile as you think, i would buy 35 1.4 instead which is a dream lens. 35 f/2: crap lens, small but noisy.. dont buy it, not comparible to 35 1.4 in any way. the rest three are very good lenses. (i have used all of these lenses btw, so please ignore my arrogance for this matter, Roflol!!) 135f2 is probably the best among them, but its huge, so i warn you! ;)... still i would go for zoom as a journalist, primes (regardless of image quality of course) are the way for hobbiest like me imho.. ;) i would go for 16-36L f/2.8 and 28-70L f/2.8 for Canon line.. " ".. Primes? Didn't you say those are for amateurs? :)"" nope i didnt say that as you see, as an hobbiest i am also an amateur and nothing is wrong with that, probably even better for me, lol! take care. |
