Welcome to TE
Brilliant close up with great sharpness
But how did you take this shot ? Aren't penguins agressive when you approach the young ?

Thank you wawa for your compliments!
Penguins are not aggressive when a human being is approaching them, and we are not perceived as predators. So I was just sitting quietly, observing the feeding, not making sudden moves, and when the Sheathbill took off, I fired. Last edited by efratnakash; 01-25-2011 at 11:01 AM. |

Maybe my surprise comes from my experience of being attacked by a bird trying to protect it's nest or from some 1960 movie, whio knows ?

Birds do attack human beings in places where people hunt them.
Fortunately people do not hunt and kill penguins in Antarctica. The few people who get there are nature aware. Last edited by efratnakash; 01-25-2011 at 11:02 AM. |
