Hello Elaine,

Thank you for the note. You cannot imagine the penetrating, biting cold on one's skin. It seems the vegetation in England is preserved at just the right temperature to keep the lawns a lush green, and the buds were coming out already, if not flowering. They never get the deep frost that would kill the vegetation.
