Great PaulVDV 2021-06-28 11:15

Hello Jorge,
A beautiful landscape presented in an excellent composition.
Very nice with the view of the red earth road leading us through the corn field, the fields in the middle in different colours and the hill behind them.
Long ago I arrived in Brazil in the month of July. The first days of the Brazilian winter were comparable to the Belgian summer. But after a few days it really became winter. Of course not comparable to a Belgian winter but very different of the descriptions of the months July and August in guidebooks :)
The title of your photo reminds me of that surprising time in Brazil. Not exactly experienced as a pleasant surprise then. But the photo looks wonderfully summery to me.
Best regards, Paul

Default To PaulVDV: winter

paul

if I remember well you visited seashore of santa catarina. that is a warm place, warmer than my town, that isn't so cold. I guess in the highlands of santa catarina it will be minus 6 C or minus 10 tomorrow, maybe snow..
yesterday in my town we had 29 C, today 17C, tomorrow 2C and after tomorrow 1C with frost and damages to corn. our winter is mild, but in some days it can kill a people with no shelter.
Brazil isn't an easy place to understand. haha. today police killed a serial killer after 20 days of persecution.. few weeks ago Justice put him free, even after had had killed many people..

take care

jorge

Hi Jorge,

I don't think we have been in Santa Catarina.
The most southern we have been were the places Curitiba, Paranaguá
and Foz do Iguaçu. I think these three places are located in the state of Paraná.
In Foz we had 7°C and drizzle.
I have a memory of seeing images on TV (in a restaurant) of snowfall in the far south of Brazil.

In Rio we had 16°C with heavy rain, almost stormy weather. The beaches were empty.

Your compatriots told us that we had a lot of bad luck with the weather that winter.
The cold weather followed us even in Minas Gerais.

Kind regards,
Paul
