Hello Les,
What fabulous warm evening light illuminates this fine church and the lovely trees about it in their autumnal colours! The low angle of the light has also beautifully lit the field and its interesting animals.
Beautiful lighting and colours, perfect composition and exposure and, as usual, excellent sharpness and clarity.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. Being of an obsessive nature, I'm thinking is this rather "Sampford Spiney" and not Sandford Spiney?

Hi Brian
Thanks for the nice critique, you're very kind. Ah there's nothing much special about our family history, no famous people or even lovable rogues. But we're really lucky to have very good immigration/shipping records here. So I know a fair bit about how that side of the family got here but have the same problem as you when trying to track down anything in NI, prior to the immigration to Australia. And him having the surname Smith hasn't helped either! I found the Scottish side much better recorded, largely due to the record-keeping of many of the clans. Have you tried any of the search engines owned by Ancestry.com? They seem to have good census and land grant records. Cheers, and have a good weekend Lisa |

hi lisa,
isn't it sad to think that lives can be lived out for years, and after a while no records remain to evidence that existance whatsoever? brian |
