Hello Dan -

Yes we are on. The question to be determined is where and when. I have not been to the city in many a year so I may get lost easily. I have been back to the region several times but it is still a bit alien with all of the growth and traffic.

Thank you for the comments. In the Colorado high country the color is pretty much cut and dried, 3rd week in September through the first week in October, if the weather holds. In my 24 yrs in Colorado there was very little variation when it came to high country, but the valleys and low land were a different story. Mountain valleys mimicked the high country but the eastern plains were another story. Sometimes fall began in September and was over by mid October but the norm seemed to be Mid-September through October and if no storm into November. Usually in the best of autumn color was over by November 11. There were many a year I had leaves buried under the snow until they could dry out after the subsequent melt.

This high country scene occurred on Tuesday morning before your trip to Bodie. I was in the canyon looking for subjects and found several cascades and some forest scenes but the gathering storm and light is what really interested me.

Later

John
