Default Reflexes not allowed

I've just been to see the Dutch football team train in preparation for Euro 2008. Yesterday, I phoned someone organising the public viewing to ask if I could take my reflex. He said it would be OK. However as soon as the security guy saw my 18-200 lens, they wouldn't let me in, apparentely for security reasons. Compacts, which funnily enough would be easier to throw onto the playing field were allowed. I managed to exchange my D50 for my daughters Coolpix L12 but with poor light and being far away, my photos of Van de Saar and Van Nistelrooy are blurry. I guess the ban is more for the security of the lucky journalists than for the players. Bye the way, someone did manage to throw a smoke flare on the ground.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe you're using brand that's different from the tournament's "Official Camera"? :-)
