Somehow I have the feeling I would prefer this if it were in colour. The B&W treatment makes this lady look like a statue, that's partly due to her petrified expression and partly due to that big medallion on her forehead that has exactly the same tone as her hair. But composition is great.

Dear Emmanuel
If the British architects were left scratching their heads as to the way this pillar was built, who am I?
In another temple which I had gone 4 years ago, the series of pillars when tapped with hand, sound like the notes of Sa-Re-Ga-Ma (your equivalent is Do-Re-Mi-Fa-...)in succession. The pillars are obviously hollow..but how they produce different notes is till a structural/architectural wonder
Thanks for liking this picture
Regards
Angshu

So this "floatting pillar" remains an architectural mystery, Anshuman ! A good thing to have some mysteries left.

Have a nice week end,

Emmanuel
