Interesting shot. It would have been nice to know who the statue is of. sad to hear about the suicides. i did a workshop on this. it's nice but i would have modified it just a bit.

yeah im not sure who it is, i heard its mary, i don't know, i have a lot more pictures of it, reminds me of that statue on behind enemy lines, there are so many stories to it, maybe edward scissorhands made it, who knows honestly

The statue is a tribute to Mary, mother of Jesus. It began as a promise to God by a man whose wife was sick with cancer. As he prayed for her health, he promised if she pulled through he would build something as a way to recognize all mothers. Well the idea took off and in the early 80's what you see is the result. The suicide information is just a rumour.
