Great tho_ebert 2007-06-17 13:43

Hi Neil,
Nice composition, may be you shouldn't have cropped the shadow of the horse. May be also that the post treatment on the rider and the horse are a bit too strong compared to the back ground, the contrasts seems a bit too artificial. But any way, the moment of the cature is good, and nice effort !

Thanks for taking the time to look at my photograph and thanks for your comments.
I didn't crop the shadow, its just the way the shot was taken.
With regard to the post treatment, I agree, it does look a bit artificial, but I did minimal alterations to the original.
When I downloaded the shot to my PC I was amazed at the way the horse and rider seemed to stand out from the background - maybe it is something to do with the sports mode on the camera.
The only alterations made, in Paint Shop Pro, were automatic saturation, unsharp mask (with high Radius value), resized to submit on TE and despeckled noise.
Cheers.
