I have been to the very place and photographed the monkeys myself :) They are amusing to watch and often provide quite a spectacle but my experience was that they are quite difficult models. Similarily to Pieter I admire the little monkey's expression. To critique I must say the colors are not the best and I think the white-balance is little bit unnatural, resulting too green-blue image. Also, perhaps the exposure time should have been a bit shorter. Right now the darker background is nicely visible, but the moneys in fron are a bit overexposed. As the background is quite messy jungle, you could have sacrifised every leaf and branch being well visible for a better exposition of monkeys. The DOF could have been shallower to better distinguish the monkeys from the messy background. I hope you find my critique useful! :)

Thanks, that is an improvement to the photo. I'm not the sort of person who puts that much thought in to technical snapping, i just point and shoot on auto mode - or at least i did back then. You post processing has demonstrated to me what a difference a little time and effort can make to digital images.
well done. |
