Hello Rimjhim,
Interesting picture but the rendering is too dark in my opinion. I hope you won't mind a small workshop just to show you the difference.

Hi Guy,
I just have seen the workshop you provided to this photo. Dont you think by changing the brightness, the sky color has somewhat lost the tinge?

Hi Debdutta,
Thanks for your message, I appreciate.
Not easy to answer, first of all it's always a matter of taste of course... BUT...
1) about the tinge: if you look well in the original picture, even the mountains in background are looking blue. I am not sure this is the right color for trees in the shadow. So, I reduced the saturation of the cyan tones (over the whole picture) until the mountains became greenish which is the right tone I think. At the same time the sky became grayish and I added some blue tone to it, I think it looks more realistic. To me, this is not a lost of tinge but a rendering of the right tinge, no more no less.
2) about the brightness: if you set the exposure to have the right shadows, then you mostly become overexposed highlights which are not recoverable. On the contrary, setting the exposure for the right highlights gives some dark shadows which are adjustable in post-processing with tone mapping (all this within limits of course)
So, my conclusion is: this picture has too dark shadows and too strong cyan tones, but as I already said, the adjustments are only a matter of taste.
