Great batalay 2012-02-17 14:42

Hello Ali,

ou've produced a highly incisive portrait of the Turkmen gentleman. he bears a kind and wise demeanor. Here I am going to make a subtle suggestion. If possible, focus on one eye of the subject, here I would have made it his left eye, and put it right on the vertical centerline. I wrote about the "centerline principle" in several photos:

“Portrait of Alexander”

“Rembrandt's Rabbi”

And here is the great Master, Rembrandt, demonstrating the principle in his work,

“The Old Rabbi”

Warm regards,

Bulent

Default To batalay: The centerline principle

Hello Bulent,
I have made a small workshop applying this centerline principle to the portrait. As you suggested I used the left eye of the man. Therefore I had to crop the image and ended up with a 3:2 format. I added a frame to recover the original size of the post. What do you think about ? Is this correct ?
Regards,
Guy
