Ah, springtime in The Neuk! Beautiful light John, and I suspect the polarising filter helped with the definition of the sky and clouds. I love the diagonal perspective leading my eye all the way to the sea and towards Norway :)
The repetitive theme of the chimneys is a lovely touch, as is the little touch of purple and white crocus.
Did these used to be fishermen's houses do you think?
Cheers, Amelia

Thank you again for your kind remarks about this one.
Unfortunately, this one is taken looking south west towards Edinburgh and not towards Norway. This one, however, is taken looking northeast towards Norway! My lens wasn't quite good enough, so you can't quite see the Norwegian coastline! I suppose that those houses might well have been fisherman's cottages although I rather suspect most of the original cottages are those congregated about the harbour. Many of these ones might well be owned by incomers - the view from these houses must be wonderful. I'm glad that you liked the little patches of crocuses. I have a confession - the crocuses were really quite sparse and so I cloned a few of them and added to them - is that cheating or is that poetic licence? Kind Regards, John. |

Fine by me John. It isn't at all obvious, and by next year they will have multiplied anyway
