Great LamCam 2009-04-30 14:09

Hello Simon,
A very carefully judged exposure and with clear fresh colours. I feel, however , that the impact of the foreground rock has been lost because it's blue cast , due to the sky's reflection, means that it blends with the water. This leaves a scattering of smaller shapes across the picture without the weight and 'anchor' which a strong dark shape would provide. Having said that, I think you can be proud of this first coastal shot!
Very best wishes....Maggie

Default To LamCam: Colour Cast

Hi Maggie,

Thanks for your feedback, it's nice to get some constructive suggestions! I felt this was lacking some impact too, and couldn't quite put my finger on it.

I've submitted a workshop where I've tried to correct the colour cast on the rock, let me know what you think!

Hi Simon,
Yes, your WS goes some way to separating the foreground rock from the middle area of the photograph. The colour of the seaweeed appears even richer too. It will be interesting to see your other views.
All the best....Maggie
