Hi Marci!
Concerning the sky you can do following:
a) go to the channels and find the one with the biggest contrast
b) copy this layer (fpr instance the red channel)
c) CTRL+L and set the arrows...

Because TE offers to you the full size of 800 pixels with the maximum of 300kb, which allows us visitors to have a better view (a bigger for instance) with more details.
