Re: Wide angle lens
I really want to get up close to people on the beach but also shoot some great scenery.
would recommend the EF 17-40L for a walkaround lens.

Re: which one is the best???
How about an EOS 30D + EF-S 17-55 IS.
A superb walkaround body and lens specially for landscapes and low light.

Re: lack of wholesome competition
Hi Carlos,
There is usually a SCAV Hunt (General->Scuv Hunt) once in a while here in TE. But there seems to be no active one this year yet.

Re: ND Grads
Agree with Ben here with the use of hard and soft ND Grads.
I just want to suggest Hitech NDGrads instead of Cokin's. I'm using the Cokin P Holder w/ the Hitech NDGrads and it fits very well.

To tho_ebert: f-stop
Hi Thomas,
Nope, I didn't use this method.
I usually shoot on AV mode and set the f-stop to f/8 - f/11 for landscape shots. This is more than enough for me and the lens I'm using.
Thanks!

Hi Bulent,
Thanks for the nice critique and info on those frames.
Thats what I'm looking also of matching the dominant colors on the pics as a color for the frame.
But will probably stick...
