To bebecam: Singapore
Hi Joanne
Yes, we loved Singapore. Hopefully we'll be back there someday.
It's been in the news recently as they will be holding a Formula 1 Grand Prix there later this year. It will be strange...

What Keywords?
OK, can somebody point out what keywords in the photo's description attract search engines?!
I can't see anything obvious.

Re: 900 views in 48 hours
I think the explanation is simple - the photo provides a very striking thumbnail.
The good colours and simple composition allow the viewer to fully appreciate the photo from just a few pixels. This...

Re: write helpful critiques to 'bad' photos
Kevinos kind of summed it all up really, so unless the admins want to do something about it, that kind of activity will only continue.
Unfortunately any good intentions by the few of us who improve...

Re: 10 thoughts
What about this idea? Should be quite effective and should only be a fairly minor change for the site?
Members have the ability to mark a critique as 'crap', 'useless', or whatever you want to call...

Re: Incredible photos
OK, everyone has their own reasons for using the Trek sites, and as long as they are within the rules, that's no problem.
But there are a lot of people who want to improve their photography, and...

Re: Where would you go!
Wow, this thread has been going on for a long time, hasn't it?
I didn't have the time to read every post but there are a lot of unusual suggestions here.
I wonder if anyone's mentioned the slightly...

Re: Underrated/orphan photos
The problem we have is that the size of this site has outgrown the restrictive rules about critiquing.
You can only critique 20 photos a day, and for those who are active, that may not be enough to...

Re: picture style
I would expect that most pro's don't use picture styles, but rather use RAW and decide on the colours, sharpness, etc when doing RAW conversion.

To sackbut: Horizon
I just wondered - are you suggesting my horizon isn't straight? I think it is, although the reed beds make it impossible to be sure, but the windmill is tilting due to old age so that might make it...

To sackbut: Cokin filters
Hi
I have 2 Cokinn Grey Grads, an ND2 and an ND8. To be honest I couldn't really remember which one I used when I posted this, but because of the exaggerated effect, I thought it must have been the...

Best landscape locations in Switzerland
Hi all
I'm thinking of going to Switzerland in the spring of this year and I was after advice from people who have been there about the best (most photogenic) locations to visit. I'll have a...

Thanks for the critique.
I was quite pleased with this shot but like most posts on TN, it got lost amongst the rest without being noticed!

Thanks for the critique, I tend to agree with you about the space in the foreground, the tarmac bothers me as well. But I don't agree that it's too dull. If the sun were shining it would be far...

To sAner: White spots.
Hi Pieter. I didn't notice those spots until you mentioned them. It is probably dust on the filter, I had to remove the same spot at the top of 20+ photos!

To sAner: Middle of nowhere & tripod
Hi Pieter
Yes, I fully agree that the picture is too dark. I have a hard time deciding on the exposure and saturation for some of my photos. I don't know if you've used it yet but the RAW...

Hi Pieter
I think we can forget about that 'rule' now.
I find it strange that I haven't recieved any critiques for 3 months, which is understandable, as I haven't posted anything, but then I post...

Re: Cleaning an L lens
I hope double and treble posting is allowed :)
I run those 3 tests and my limited skills would diagnose: inconclusive. There is no obvious mould, although the central 80% of the round image through...
