The fishes should look as if hanging from the bushes like fruits.
Alternatively, as if looking from the ground of the bamboo(?)-shadowed pond into the sky, sort of fish-view :-)

On your picture from the other side I now can see an additional tiny word in front of the roman number indicating that C. has "put" this monument. Thanks.

OK, I can read on the foto 2 names and a roman number indicating a year. Nothing about that Catharina put it, anybody else could have done this.
It remains totally unclear why Catharina is mentioned...

I was joking! It is just curious that Catharinaīs name appears on the inscription, though the monument itself shows only Petrīs figure.
