I was using a small camera which had its limitations. I kept the foreground flowers intentionally out of focus as I focused at the ground in the distance. I saved my picture as 800 x 600 pixels....

This is the original photograph and I have only used Neat Image to iron out some grains which appeared because of the low light. However, i liked this natural light and shade effect...

Thanks for viewing. I also thought of cropping but then I would have missed the stairs which is the story behind the photo, that of clothes being dried on the stairs of the ghats.

Thanks Chris for sharing.
I do not have Irfan view instaed I open the photo in Paintbrush and do the framing in a crude way :-) Probably that takes out some of the sharpness.

if i would have walked a few steps up, i would have missed the white coloured steps in the below of the frame so the colour combination would have gone. if i would have taken a few more...

you are right that it is difficult to capture the birds at the right moment and that too I was in a moving boat. Thought I was lucky enough to get the shot and also thanks to the camera.
