Hi Kath, I think you took the correct step in lightneing the curves, it makes for a much improved scene. it picks out the detail in the shoreline across the lake and makes the whole scene that bit more interesting. It is a very good well composed shot, with lots of balance and interest. I love the depth of the blue in both the lake and the sky. My next purchase will be a grad filter! Well done, Best Regards John

Hi Paul, Great view. Stunning colours and an extreamly atmospheric shot. You have captured some great depth and good use of the perspective drawing the eye to the horizon. I love the band of mist just below the horizon and infront of the headland. Well done & TFS, John

Hi Kath, Great unusual shot of this much photographed lake. You have dealt very well with the lighting and have created a very atmospheric shot. I believe a great strength in the compo is the convergent lines of the clouds, hills and shore line, duplicated in the reflected surface of the lake, drawing the eye to the upper centre left of the frame. Excellent work, well done and TFS. John. PS thanks also for the reminder re backing up in your intro. J. ;~)

Hi Edward. I agree with Geof re the crop and darken scene. Myself, I woould leave the additional light behind the cloud, as it reflects in the lake to good effect. I particularly like the curves in this shot. Good work, well done and welcome to TE. I also agree re the note, a large part of this site is learning from others, and a note as to location, what motivated you to take the shot, and some tech details re PP are always very helpful. Minor points, this is a good photo, TFS John

Hi Slawomir, I don't think your photo is 'crappy'. I think the compo is excellent with lots of movement and several points of interest. Their are some real contrasts in the shot, including the red foreground and the pale sky. The ships on the right and the goal on the left. The two groups of children also. My only criticism is you could have cropped some of the sky out, there is rather too much of it, and the overall shot seems noisey. I am assuming that this is a scanned image. Also, it would make your work that bit more interesting if you could include a note, however brief regarding the background to your work. I am very concious that you may not that English may not be your first language. My apologies for writing this in English. I have no Polish at all! Best Regards and keep posting. John

Great shot Steve, I saw the brilliant red sky when I left work this afternoon in Wakefield, and wondered if anyone would post a shot. Lovely clear evening. I like your moon, very subtle, and I don't think the fact that it's central detracts. The trees are great. Great capture, wonderful compo. Welll done, john
