Hi Pat, Wonderful image, in fact two images (which could stand alone) in one. I love the jagged moutains with their warm red hue, and the cool smooth blue of the ocean. The white ferry adds a real point of interest. Speaking as some one who was working to deadlines in the 70's, (and still is). At the moment, i'm still in Skagway. Hoping to move to Haines very shortly!!!It sounds like my kind of town!! Regards, John

Hi Jennifer, Wonderful image and all the better for displaying in B&W, it really adds to the art deco feel of the carriage archetecture. Good POV too. Well done and TFS, John

Hi Harry, Great photo and a very powerful image. Have you read 'The beckoning Silence' a book by Joe Simpson, the UK climber who wrote 'touching the void'. In 'The Beckoning Silence' Joe describes the attempts to climb the mile high vertical north face of the Eiger, and also documents the many deaths of acomplished climbers who have died on the mountain. I have seen many photo's of the Eiger, your photo, with the train, which features in Joe's book, showing the scale of the face, illustrates the scale of the face. The DOF is really good, and I can pick out areas on the face that are described by Joe. Well done, it's a great peice of work, and as I say, very moving. Read the book, it will move you. Regards John

Hi Matteo, I love this shot. Very moody and some great colours. I might have been tempted to avoid the branch on the right of the shot with the brown leaves, though. I think a great strength in this shot is the repeated verticals, at different depths, and that branch just cuts across the frame and upsets the balance. Good of you to see the frame. Well done and TFS, John

Hi Elzbieta, Lovely dream and a lovely shot. Not sure if I agree with jasmis' choice of song though, although it is one of my favorite tracks, in essence its about wasting time, and life is far too short for that! I'd prefer the words of a Lindesfarne song, Run for Home, I've travelled the land With a guitar in my hand And an eye ever open for some fun I've made some mistakes Had my share of the breaks Seen the boys on the make and on the bum Chorus: Run for home run as fast as I can Oh-oh running man running for home Run for home run as fast as I can Oh-oh running man running for home. Great composition and lovely light. TFS, John

Hi John, Great shot. You have really captured that special moment, as you say just as morning has broken. I love your compo, good use of the driftwood on the shore, and the textures with the differing light both on the bluffs and across the water add great atmosphere. TFS. Are you still coming to the UK in May. Best Regards John

Hi Patricia, Good to see you are keeping up the good work. You have captured some wonderful skin tones on this child's face, and I love the candid nature of the shot. Very strong colours and interesting movement. Well done, and TFS, John

Hi John, Wonderful photograph, very striking scene. For me there are 3 photos, all different. The mountains in the top half have a mist filled vale. The green lane and benches have a misty sky, and the whole photo makes a very striking scene. Good work and a very apt poem. TFS, John
