Hi Phil, I am having a look at your gallery after having read your heated discussion with robbienight...! Maybe you remember! Anyways, just to reassure you, your shots are definately better even if you get less points..! But more seriously, I am commenting here because I read the critiques and you asked chrisJ for a workshop but he hasn't done it yet. So I'll give it a shot...My comments are the same as his. Plus, composition-wise, I think it might have been better if you hadn't put the tree in the middle, but on either side and given us more sand in the background. And less foreground too because I find the "white" or light colored sand not very appealing. In general, well done. I hope my workshop gives you an idea. Cheers! Louis

Just like Liverpool FC...Your photo is definately out of focus. I don't know if it was voluntary, but I like the effect created by the focus a lot. The tilt is also very interesting. The atmosphere is intense. What is the person holding in his (or her) hand?

Hi Harjit, I found your account on Flickr. Pretty good. I see what's your definition of "street shooting". Nothing wrong with that! Anyways, I like this shot. Inna's workshop is also good since she applied the rule of the thirds, which I know you don't much care for. Maybe a lower exposure to put more focus on the girl? After all, she is the subject of this shot right, and of many of your shots for that matter ;). I don't think I'll be posting anything from the meeting cause I tried to be too artistic and everything came out pretty shi**y. And judging from your shots on Flickr, I missed the best part and should have stayed longer. 9 am was just too early for me! Cheers, Louis

Louis

Hi John, I wouldn't say this is a technically bad photo. I think it's pretty good. It's a bit unusual here I guess (but I don't see al the photos that are posted), but I like it. Architecture shots are always welcome, especially those of countries that are seldomly visited by TE'ers. I do like the contrast between the chandelier and the dome. And you did a good job with the light. Also, some people seem to forget that the goal of TE is to learn about the world (myself included) and this shot has a good learning value. Keep Oman shots coming. Best Wishes. Louis

Hi Peter, I can't believe so many people go crazy for such a poor look-a-like. But I guess that's Japan right? I've never seen so many cell phones in my life. Anyways, I like your compo alot. The half moon of people is good. I also like how you caught the buildings at the back. The light is pretty good. I think the baby blue cell phone on the far left is a bit distracting though. But nothing to bother me really. Well done. Best Wishes Louis

Hi Daniel, I like the way the bushes and tree make a frame for this shot. It's too bad that the tree is so dark though. Maybe you should have taken a few steps forward though, so that the tree would have been on the end of the right side, thus avoiding that big space to the right of the tree. Apart from that, I like your composition and colors. I have always liked marina shots. Also, I like how the houses are all the same in the background, and I like the way you caught them. Well done. Cheers. Louis

Bien vu. Bonne soirée. Louis
