This is a very interesting image, the thumbnail certainly invites opening to enjoy it. Upon opening, the color is eye-catching, and the viewer is immediately taken in by the breadth of the scene and the exceptionally fine, crisp, clear air. This image makes a great initial impact. The problems I have with this are the following, however: 1. The Photographer's note indicates specifically that PP included stitching and curve adjustment. Looking at the image indicates that is probably not the whole truth, and subsequent critiques and responses bare out that assumption. 2. The color is significantly over-saturated; the sky has this deep dark blue area in the middle which is inconsistent with the balance of the scene. 3. The left side of the image has poorly executed cloning, meaning, you can see 2x and 3x of most of the features along the left edge of the frame. Being on the far edge of the picture, these are not related to stitching. 4. Opening the image in PS (I attempted to correct stitching in a WS, but gave-up) the stitch line is clearly visible in the sky and near the top of the mountains, and the mountain ridge is not properly aligned to the left of the stitch line. There is a partial ghost image. It is commendable to experiment with stitching. When early attempts fail, it may be better to recognize that and try again with a different image...rather than post a very nice looking image which contains significant defects. Chris Wendt

Antoine This is an excellent image, well exposed and composed. The photographer's note was informative and intersting. I am posting a workshop with some technical notes about color balance, and rendering, not as criticism but informational. Regards Chris

Excellent in all respects, Jorge! This is very much 'noise-free', I mean the camera at 1600 ISO. QN: What WB setting did you use on the camera? The image does not have any serious color caste from ambient incandescent or flourescent lighting that may have been expected when shooting without a flash. Great job... Chris

Seriously over-sharpened. Color abberation/fringing in the fronds of the trees to the left. Sky color is unnatural (upper left corner) with artifacts visible. The water color does not appear natural or pleasing, indicating a color caste; the sand, same. Compostition would have been much better had you aimed slightly more to your right, bringing in the pretty colored umbrella from the very edge of the frame, while at the same time removing whatever that distracting thing is that is sticking into the left edge of the frame at the water line.

Horizon is tilted, which is fairly easy to have avoided with a scanned image. The people are out of focus...the image focal point is beyond them, on the surf line. The right side of the frame is underexposed, significantly lacking detail in shadows and quarter tones. This is made more evident by the uneven lighting...the very bright towel upon which the woman is seated, and the bright red reflection off the man's shirt, in harsh comparison to the right side of the picture. The sky and sea colors are good in this one. Natural and pleasing.
