Photographer's Note

The Grzybowski Square in Warsaw - the triangular square located in the Śródmieście district, recently renovated in 2009 - 2011.

The history of the square dates back to the early seventeenth century, when the place was just undeveloped space at the crossroads leading to the Ujazdowski Castle, the village Sluzewiec and Old Town.

The appearance of the square took on a new character in the second half of the nineteenth century, when after 1861 the All Saints church was built by Henryk Marconi.

In 1940, the Grzybowski Square was located in the ghetto area.

Hi Malgorzata,
I think that one of the basic principles of TrekEarth is to inspire other photographers with interesting and beautiful photos which they see here.
One of such photos is this one. Interesting vertical composition, very festive mood, beautiful view! The reflection of bright light is what adds a special charm to this image :)

it's dark grey cloudy noon in Stockholm now, but, inspired by your photo, I'll go for a walk to see what I can find to shoot ... maybe I will find something bright in the greyness of the day! LOL

Nice symmetrical reflections in the wet pavement with good sharpness & superb framing. The predominant dark blue colour tones are eyecatching. Nice repetition of the geometric patterns & shapes of the squares at left. Have a happy New Year!

Hi Malgorzata,

One could perhaps not call this a blue hour shot since it looks as if it was a rather dull and cloudy evening. Nevertheless it is a wonderful scene with very excting blue colours. Excellent sharpness and detail and great reflections. TFS and Happy New Year!

An excellent choice of POV and a nice light management. I like the global blue tone and the white light contrasting with a magical atmosphere. The pavement and the reflects on the foreground add to the picture a beautiful graphical effect.

Bonjour Malgorzata,

Un très beau cadrage vertical qui donne à l'image une très belle profondeur. Le bleu se reflète un peu partout dans l'image et lui donne une belle atmosphère.

A very blue scene but not a blue sentiment.
The puddle reflections are very useful, helping to lead the eye towards the impressive, focal buildings in the b/g, and helping to convey a mood of optimism.Very well captured, without a hint of noise.

Very creative long exposure night photography and lots of blue. I like your ideas in using the pavement reflections and light work to hold the focus which is also superbly exposed. This adds further interest as a whole at the same leads the eyes to the imposing castle. Good balance image to the dark night sky. Awesome colors, lighting and general contrast and above all pin sharp bearing in mind of slow shutter speed. Great work and splendid results. Congrats
