Photographer’s Note

This photo was taken from the creek level at Myrdal looking up at the houses and rail station. The people sitting next to the stream were enjoying the wonderful weather and the sounds of the babbling stream. Myrdal is a station on the Oslo - Bergen rail line and the end of the Flam railway. Myrdal is at an elevation of 2838 ft.

Simplicity, composition, color management: these are the main qualities of your picture from the technical point of view. On the emotional side, it's not world shaking, but gives a nice view on what a holiday in Norway can be. Mine was a bit more rainy...

Great shot from an interesting POV! The details are fine and the colours well saturated! Although the pathway leads the eye upwards, the eye certainly needs to rove around as there is so much of interest to see!

Typical Norway with those colourful houses on the slopes on every small town. The path to it creates a good focal point, but best part is of course those two people by the river, what a lovely secenery. It's really gives perfect scaling to the surrounding and brings life to the image...wonderful..!!!

lovely landscape and impressive, full of colour and details. The composition could be considered even too "full of things". As a personal attitude, I would have chosen a vertical compo corresponding to the left half of yours, so creating only two major points of interest: the two persons in the foreground, and the yellow house of the slope. Hi Asa, what a lovely view of a place which hasn't shown its sunny side to me when I was there in August, but instead, there was some heavy rain and thick fog... I like the arrangement of several differently coloured houses in the frame.

You have captured this lovely place well! I took that train a few years ago, but made other fine stops; however, I think you found the better place to be.

The stream and road lead our eyes down the frame and the color of the building, the greenery keep us involved - and the people too.

The presence of the person has an effect of scale. The capture of the power of the current of the creek is an asset to the composition. The point of view leads our eyes toward the colorful houses in the background which is giving depth to the photo. The sky is sending a light which is enhancing the scenery. Have a nice day.
