Photographer's Note

The fields of Oshkosh become landing strips and parking areas for thousands of airplanes each summer. It's a "fly in" show, meaning that the prefered (or at least most stylish) mode of transport is to fly by your own plane. We flew in a friend's plane from the East coast.

The theme in 1995 was World War II. I was amazed at how many perfectly kept airplanes there were (easily several hundred). Just as amazing is that some people collect them - even the big ones!

To find out about the current show, there should be something on the EAA web site or other web site.
