Here a beautiful example of "taffoni". They are on the Western Southern coast of Corsica between Campomoro and Senetosa, with the named point "U Puntonu".

It is a round cavity whose dimensions vary decimetre with several meters of depth and diameter. These cavities are formed by the erosion of grained magmatic rocks like the granite and the sandy sedimentary rocks.

They are born with the side from a rock face following disintegration from the rock, in its parts protected from the sun, under the action of ambient moisture.
