Photographer’s Note
In a place like the mountains of Scotland, you have the positive feeling of being one with the nature and time. Your place is somehow insignificant in the time and spacial scale of the mountains, yet by being in their presence, you somehow feel part of their multi-million year history. It is hard to describe, but this photo tries to give a little of that feeling with the lone figure near the water.
This image will be on display as a print at the 16th Annual Exhibition of London Independant Photography, LIP Birmingham and also projected in the TE exhibit in Italy

The picture shows very well what you are saying in your note, I think. The light is great.

You succeeded to capture that mood. I like the stripped nature of light, and the lone figure fits in perfectly. My only regret (and it's always so with great landscape photos) is that it's so small. I'd love to see it printed full size :)

The light and colors are excellent and contrast each other beautifully (I also like the dark tree on the right). The lonely person at the bottom gives a great sense of space/size.
Well done.

Great light, great framing Dan!
The sky holds a beautiful heavy blue clouds and the greens & yellows are well saturated within all the other elements that are composed well.
Though, I can't say I'm happy with the lower right corner that might have been a little bit better exposed - maybe it's just me and my taste.
But I like it in general!

Exellent! The light is superb and your framing really shows just what it needs to show. I love this. Your note is very good too.

Wonderful light on the mountains and I like the single person stood looking at the scene.
Maybe the bottom right is just a bit too dark for me but could be my rubbish laptop monitor - new one arrives next week :)

Beautiful scenery - the power and the individual are just what you presented here. Tree and water, mountain and sky are all well captured, I think. A great thought to keep...

Don't know if you waited for the sun to hit the top of the mountain, between the cloudy sky. Either way, very nice timing, light, colours, composition and general feeling. Very, very nice.

Dan -- thanks for the description. The image was decent enough, but the figure (representing the things you described in your description) makes the image.

In such weather conditions (sun and many clouds) it's very hard to catch the right moment, i.e. when sunlight and shadows form perfect picture. You caught this moment. Well done.
Great note, BTW.

The colours on the hills highlighted by the sub shining through the gaps in the clouds together with the moody sky add up to a great picture. Must add it to a list of places to visit.

my immediate reaction is, "wow". what a beautiful scenery. The colors have been exposed extremely well. and you have depicted 4 fantastic elements really well: the clouds, the tree, the lake and the mountains.
well done, that's all I can say.

Dan, you have captured a fantastic light on these rugged hills. It's particularly glorious under the brooding sky. The single person in the foreground adds to the remote feeling of this place.

Dan,
This superb image conveyed everything you wrote in your note and that's the beauty of it.
Not to mention that technically, it is simply a work of art.

Great light, great the effect of the man alone in the Nature.
Reading your note, I think that the effect that you have looked for has been reached. It really gaves the feeling of being insignificant in front of majesty of Nature.
Thank you,
Stefano

Hi Dan,
I love the colours in this photo. The contrast of the shadow and light on the hill/mountain is simply wonderful. The hue of blue/gray in the sky/cloud is really great. Did you use a filter for this effect?
