Photographer’s Note

We had some good sun early in the morning on our day in Bergen yielding a few shots with great sky before the clouds rolled in. Bryggen, the old wharf of Bergen, is a reminder of the town's importance as part of the Hanseatic League's trading empire from the 14th to the mid-16th century. Many fires, the last in 1955, have ravaged the beautiful wooden houses of Bryggen but its main structure has been preserved. Many of the remaining 58 buildings are now used as artists' studios. Hello Asa. I went to Bergen about 23 years ago, and found it to be a very nice town. This photo is well cropped and the colours are great on the row of almost identical buildings. I like the inclusion of the two people on the left, which not only fills up some open space, but adds depth to the picture. A well chosen viewpoint and appealing photo.

I like how you took a picture with the typicall house all we have in mind when we are thinking in Norway.

Maybe needs a little more sharpness but, anyway, I like it.

Those houses are very characteristic for Norway, I saw some like these in Skavanger. Good panoramic crop, and descending houses make for a good perspective.

intersting place that in Norway. I like the houses sequence and the warm colors on it. I made a photo recently with colorsful houses too that I will post soon. I only sugest to crop ot the strange "pod" structure on the right side

Interesting line of colorfull houses !
Concerning the compo I regret, the left and right parts polluted by luminars and the 2 tourist taking picture.

Otherwise light is good and sky beautifull.

Congratulations by your magnify gallery.
This scene reflects an architectonic model, full of symmetry, colorful order and, everything by the angle in diagonal taken by your camera.
An ideal atmosphere, with an ideal sky. Perhaps the only thing that I do not like: the post that is appraised in the lateral right, in my case had trimmed it.

This picture reminds me very good time in Norway!
I remember a good fish sandwich taken at Bergen.
I like this picture but i think the pole on the right side and maybe the pole in the left are distracting. A little cropping would have helped.

Cette succession de maisons identiques mais de couleurs différentes fait un excellent cliché. Dommage de ne pas avoir profité des 200 Ko tolérés pour la définition, on aurait une image plus nette.

j'aime les vues très typiques qui ne trompent pas sur la provenance des photos; ici, même sans la situer on aurait recoonu la Norvège de suite.
Les couleurs sont superbes et ce format semi-panoramique est efficace pour allonger la vue.

Hello Asa,

One of the destinations I have not been able to fulfill until now is Norway and particularly Bergen. Many thanks for showing us such a striking picture of the famous old houses: I always saw compressed photos ( as my previous TELC picture of the houses ) of these houses, but it is the first time I see
them with a Plaza in front of them.

Je me souviens d'avoir fait des détails de ces maisons, mais je ne suis pas certain d'avoir fait une vue d'ensemble comme cette photo - tout est si lointain...et encore en diapo... un jour peut-être je les ressortirai - alors merci de me rappeler ce très beau souvenir, j'aime beaucoup ici ton format - il met bien en valeur ce chapelet de maisons aux couleurs chatoyantes.

It is a pity you could not avoid the street lamp on the right. The street seems to show quite a lot of animation. Fortunately, there were not too many cars passing by.
