Photographer's Note

The Grote of Sint-Bavokerk at Haarlem is a three-nave gothic cathedral, finished in 1520 and interesting because of several aspects:

The original stone steeple was removed due to static problems while the church was still under construction and later recycled to serve on another church.
There were interments inside the church until 1831 - famous Dutch painter Frans Hals is buried here.
The wooden ribbed vaulting seems outstanding.
And there is an functioning example of Foucault's pendulum in the side nave.

Taken on film with Canon A1, scan from paper print.
