Photographer's Note
I remember I have used here once the title “Postcard from Middlesbrough” and a British TE member was laughing that it somehow does not go together since postcards are usually sent from attractive holiday destinations and Middlesbrough is seen in the UK as something opposite. So I am trying now to be more general, using Teesside instead.
I mentioned numerous times that North East England is a great place to photograph unusual bridges and I have showed you most of them many times already. This one, Newport Tees Bridge I have showed as well even from the same POV HERE or a different one HERE. However, the previous photos were taken when the bridge was green. It has been painted couple of years ago and now it is red and white but at night it is lit mainly in purple while the middle section is lit in all colors of rainbow which is not well seen here. The change of night illuminations was tempting me so many times and today finally I got there again. Sadly, I didn’t find a better POV. It looks spectacular from A19 bridge but pedestrians are not allowed there.
I had several versions, some where the bridge was better lit and/or reflected but it didn’t have the blue hour mood yet. Here it has more of the mood but the setting becomes quite dark, since the surrounding is natural without any lights. Quite scary to walk there too.

Hello Mariusz, a fabulous night-time picture with the lights on the bridge somehow magnified as reflections on the water. The far distant lights from the river bank add to the effect.
Lovely shot.

Hello Mariusz,
If people say that Middlesbrough doesn't have postcard-worthy places, they should really go there once or at least have a look at your photo. An amazing photo of this elegant steel bridge. Its structure looks fantastic and it is illuminated so beautifully. The reflections are also awesome. Very well done!

Hello Mariusz,
Ooooh ... no ruins this time :)
For sure they do like colours in Middlesbrough. First the bridge was painted green, then red and the night lighting is purple.
A great site for a night shot with the long reflections in the water.
Well done!
Best regards, Paul

Hi Mariusz
i remember this bridge from your other posts, but i took a look at it anyways. what a difference it makes when we see it in daylight, the green color, it looks so 'industrial'. Here it has a more modern sleek look. in fact, it almost looks as if it's a piece of Art! this is my favorite of the three.
quite the shot! well done. cheers

cześć Mariusz, Nie zgadzam sie, ze Middlesbrough nie zasługuje na pocztówkę. Są tam jak pamietam ciekawe miejsca, i własnmie mosty szczególnie. Fantastycznie oświetlony most i jakie super odbicia. Ale to chyba nie jest ten transportowy? Pewnie ta środkowa część podnoszona jest do góry. Ciekawe, czy masz taka wersje.
Pozdrawiam MAłgorzata

Hi Mariusz,
As always, a fascinating and very informative note and a very striking night shot of this iconic bridge.
It is always nice to see photographs from where members actually live - and not just from exotic places they have visited while on holidays or adventurous expeditions - because although we sometimes complain about the places where we live, there are indeed some beautiful photographs to be captured if we just open our eyes and look without bias.
I realise, as you say in your note, that you can think of better places from which to view this bridge but they are inaccessible. However, you have managed to find an excellent viewpoint and have produced a beautiful image with glorious light, rich vibrant colours and fabulous reflections on the calm water of the Tees. Perfect exposure, a fine bold composition and exquisite details and sharpness.
Fabulous!
Kind Regards,
John.

Bonjour, cher Mariusz,
La nuit tout devient magique à travers les lumières de la ville ou des édifices particuliers.
Cette vue est de qualité, j'aime ces lumières et les couleurs qui se reflètent délicieusement dans les eaux noires.
Amitiés.

Hello Mariusz,
Well, you are certainly flying the flag for the N.E. with most attractive shot from Middlesbrough. You don't actually mention a tripod, but you must have had something to steady your camera for this fine.
When trying to take blue hour shots, you have to be determined because the light changes so rapidly but you have lovely contrasts between the blue of the sky and the darkness of the water. The bridge is really well highlighted with the purple, indigo and blue lights which, as reflected lights in the river, seem to blur and mix, like paint splatted on a wet surface.
It's a well executed and well composed photograph.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hello Mariusz.
This bridge is a real spectacle, especially at night, with that purple lighting more than blue and the excellent reflections of it in the sea. The structure of this iron bridge is also very original.
The sharpness, the lighting, the color, and the magnificent composition; all of them are perfectly realized factors, in this beautiful image.
Well done. I like very much.
Have a nice day. My sincere greetings.
Luis.

I am a tourist (no one can put this in doubt) and I went to visit this town and I appreciated many of its attractions, of course it isn't so full of nice things like london, but this bridge is much more beautiful than that ugly giant wheel they put in the edges of the thames. haha....
lovely this bridge illuminated. I didn't remember it, only the other more famous structure in the same river.--PS: would be it the same bridge, but in another position?
take care
