Photographer's Note

Heading northeast along the Apache Trail, the western flank of the Superstition Mountains is on your right and the Bulldog Canyon Recreation Area is on your left with a bit of unincorporated Apache Junction separating them. This break-in-the-storms photo of the Superstitions was taken from a hill in the recreation area. In the background, on the left, is Weaver's Needle.

Access to the recreation area on this side is via Hackamore Road. It's initially paved, but, as it turns into Forest Road 3512, it turns to dirt and is deeply potholed.

ISO 200, f/6.3, 1/160 sec, 70mm
Post-processing consisted of lens correction, smart sharpening, exposure adjustment, and changing the color temperature from "as shot" to "cloudy".
