Dudok II

Back in early 2005, when I had been a member of TE for about six weeks, I posted a photo of the tower of the Hilversum Town Hall. I visited the place again the day before yesterday, and although I nowadays live much closer, some 5 km, to Hilversum and visit the city regularly, this time I had also brought my camera.

Raadhuis Hilversum (Hilversum Town Hall) is one of the most famous town halls in The Netherlands, thanks to its design by architect Willem Marinus Dudok. It was completed in 1931. Hilversum is the largest city in the region called Het Gooi with a little over 86,000 inhabitants. It is often called “media city”, as it is main centre for radio and TV broadcasting in The Netherlands.
