Photographer's Note

For a reason unknown to me, the majority of the pilgrims at the Sita Ram festival were men. I do know that the women were at the bathing ghats earlier than I, before dawn break, taking their bath in the river whilst still dark. However, I also noticed that at the temples and walking the 6 kilometer circumference of the holy mountain the women were a minority.
These three, mother and two daughters were enjoying chai and a breakfast snack and bemused with my presence. I asked if they wanted more chai but they just looked puzzled and continued to talk about me. (which is quite off-putting sometimes, but I must say I am used to it)
