Christianity came to Ireland in the early 5th century, and was spread through the works of early missionaries such as Saint Patrick.

Today the Roman-Catholic Church in Ireland serves both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, and is under the spiritual leadership of the Pope. Almost 90% of citizens of the Republic of Ireland were baptised Catholic as infants.

very very cool... the outstretched arms of the icon and branches, and the background signs saying "gate", "ambassador", "tomorrow never dies" very compelling and thought provoking... the framing of the outstretched branches to the edge mirrors the outstretched arms of the icon in a box, the unaffected traffic passing by, etc ... perhaps another metaphor for mortality or some other heavy allegory...

Hello Benny,

Yes the tree is a real eye-catcher, with the naked branches against the pale December sky!
The centered composition works well here, giving good emphasis to the main subjects...

a very interesting view. The colored Jesus inside a cage of glass and that nude branches around created a fantastic compo, very unusual. nice job, unusual to see a blue sky in that island too

Hello Benny,

I miss this photo previously. I like the point of view making the tree growing from the statue. In this way, the centered composition was the best choice.
