Photographer’s Note
The Woermannhaus in the Bismarck Street of Swakopmund is one of the oldest buildings in the city and one of its most popular landmarks. The complex was founded in 1894 by the architect Frederick Holt in the historicizing style timber-frame for the Hamburg agent Adolph Woermann and the German-South West African Trading Damara and Namaqua Company. The complex consists of the main house, a courtyard and the so-called Damara tower. Today the Woermannhaus is the Swakopmund town library, an art gallery and a military museum.

Hi Achim,

Guten Morgen Achim!
Deutschland in Afrika - toll!

Achim,
This is a well composed shot of this German colonial building. The angle of the shot is great giving the photo a sense of depth and direction. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has excellent sharpness. The deep blue sky provides fine contrast for the yellow tones of the building.

Bonjour Achim.
Beau travail !
Amical salut !

Hello my dear Achim
What is another super wonderful shot!
Perfect and bold framework/composition and sharp focusing in the detail for a colonial style building are excellent as usual! The color tone/coordination is also significant and meaningful. Deep blue sky is so beatiful too. Congratulation on your masterpiece!
Thanks for sharing and best regards,
Have a nice Saturday !

Hallo Achim,
I didn't expect that this is in Afrika, until I saw that it is in Namibia and remembered the history of Südwestafrika.
Nice color and interesting architecture.

I like the special light and colours here, so intense and saturated, they give a special atmosphere. Of course this building is outstandig for its lovely architecture one would not expect to find in Africa! Your slightly oblique composition enhances the sense of perspective and shows very well the whole compound. Very neat and clear.
An excellent work.
Best regards,

Hello Achim
A fine presentation of that colonial building displayed in a good light allowing to see nicely its details. I guess the rooms, especially for the down ones, are well illuminated, because of its big windows...I like as well the color tones of the building!

Nice framing with good perspective. Although I did not like that much this kind of architecture, it is very interesting to see pictures from a very little known country like Namibia. I believe this is a remain from the time Namiabia wasa German colony.
All the best,
Emmanuel
