Please Take It God Photo

Photographer’s Note

I took it today morning on the eve of Chhat Puja. It is a colourful and holy hindu festival of northern India, mostly of Bihar. After a week of Dipabali it occurs. It begins at the sixth day of Kartik.
In this festival 'Sun' is worshiped as god. The people offering 'Puja' to god sun with the prayer for fulfilment their wishes and desires. People used to take dip in holy water and used to wear new clothes. The women you can see in this shot are offering their worship to Sun just at the time of sunrise. I loved the whole festive process. Now I am sharing a part of it. Hope you like it.

That's a fine example of religious devotion - the expression on the face of the elder woman is absolutely great. I like your shot a lot. It is real India as it is. The only issue I had was the most probably blueish hue. To show you what I mean I have posted a WS. However I have to add, I have not been there, so I have not seen the real colors. You certainly know much better. I just corrected the colors following the technical guidelines in photoshop what most of the time is true - all my pictures are checked and processed by photoshop. Otherwise your shot has a high sharpness and the mood you have captured beautifully. Well done

Beautiful image of this religious festival. The ladies show much devotion on their faces. I did a workshop, removing some elements that appeared don't be part of the ceremony and also reducing the red tone of the image. I hope you like it.

Namaste Subhendu. beutiful shot of Indianwomen with puja. I like their aree very much. How they wash it then, the water seems rather not clean. I would probably cut in different way, without the people in the upper part or have them with heads. but maybe it was not possible. What does this red colour means on their forhead? I like the picture, the women look so solemn. In a week I will see India, but not this part of it.

This is very nice ceremony, also a nice daily life, decisive moment shot. Coming from you who understand it personally first hand is even more meaningful. While the quality of the photo is not as good as some other partly due to the low light of the morning, but the atmosphere, the sentiment, and the festivity is well capture with a your keen sensitivity. Nice picture from the Chhat pujo. I presume light was not the best when you took this picture, but quite well handled, but the atmosphere and the mood has been well captured. An option was to wait for a while till the boat had gone, so that the head and upper body of those on the boat would not be cut off...just an idea, don't know whether it would have been possible though. But well done!
