Gingerbread Reflections Photo

Photographer’s Note

The Renaissance houses of Telč reflecting in the water of the fountain, "supervised" by St. Margaret.

To me, the houses look like gingerbread houses decorated with colourful icing, hence the name of the photo.

Telč is a small town in the Bohemian-Moravian highlands, famous for its Renaissance square and castle (which earned it a place on the UNESCO list of cultural heritage).

I grew up there, but I never cease to be amazed by the beauty of the square, no matter what time of day...

It is a beautiful sight! I regret not having gone in this city when I went in Czechoslovakia (in 1985 the country was called still like that!) it is a fantastic theater's set . The opposition of both architectures to the right and to the left is really interesting. The reflections are fantastic.
A great discovery for me.

Hi Dasha, Telc is truly fascinating. I have been told that the architecture of Prague is the most beautiful in the world, but am quickly learning how impressive that of Telc's is. You have a great eye for symmetry and in this shot, the reflection in the fountain is well-composed and captured. The gold lights of the buildings against the black night are so attractive as is the symmetry of the arches on the right-hand side. Un capolavoro, congratulations, Lisa
