Photographer’s Note

A few weeks ago I posted a simillar one and I found another one,I think worth to present you.
Viewing my recent uploads,you see it`s worth to get up very early to have sometimes magic light.
For these occasions I travel with a 0.4 liter water cocker to prepare coffee in the guesthouses at sunrise.
HOW DECADENT,but I hate it going out without having a coffee before..............
This shot is taken in the Kerala backwaters not far from GK riverview homestay,a wonderful place to spend a few days.

This photo has a wonderful use of light. Just looking at it I can feel the humidity and the sound of bugs. I love the various shades of green caught in the back light. Excellent composition.

You've done it again and found this amazing light on the backwaters! He is framed so well by the silhouetted branches and the dark foilage on the bottom as he glides along so tranquily. Nice reflection and I absolutely love the palette of green hues.

wonderful shot with the backlight and all this greenery surrounding this lonely man.
The light is trully wonderful reminding me one of your older shots with the lady sweaping the ground.
The man and boat and their reflection on the lake are another great detail of this wonderful shot.
Maybe one day I'll be able to get shots like this if I convince myself of geeting out of bed earlier :)

jetzt hast du es schon wieder gemacht. Geiles Licht und so voller Gefühl! Sehr beeindruckend. Vor allem, weil man für so ein Bild nicht wirklich viel Zeit hat, alles einzustellen. Persönlich finde ich so ein Bild besser als jede Landschaft. Klasse!!

Hi Andreas, magic shot like Kerala is magic. This morning light, the boat, abunant vegetation. It reminds me my staying there. We were two days on a houseboat, such an old riceboat, we had there our meals and we slept in a village on canal. It was perhaps the highlight of my trip to India. Evening and especially the early morning was fantastic. The population washing teeth in this water, making laundry, bathing...And our plates were also washed in this water... Splendid atmosphere, I remember it just like this. Thanks for sharing

The compo would have a lot more balanced had you given a few extra second.,.delaying the shot..allowing the boat to go more outwards to the left..giving itself more definition and visual appeal..

other aspects..perfect from the master..

Backwaters hah...exotic...expsensive !

Andreas,
I also love the first light of the day to get some magic. Having the right drink is important to me too. the difference is that I take the cooker with me and have a sip of Earl Grey tea during one shot and another. That makes the pleasure double! Henk was a witness to my habit up at the Moraine Lake in Calgary.
The image? What do you want me to say? You already said it all - magic light!

Hi Andreas,

Only early birds can achieve such a great shot when the light is golden and still close to the horizon.

I really like the moment you have chosen to push the shutter, using the foreground vegetation in silhouette to frame your subject.

The highlights on the back of the rower and on the boat are essential to the impact of your image.

Simply gorgeous stuff.

Hi there, amazing picture... The light over the left green side make that part so real... it does not look like a picture, it is as if one is actually there looking at this beautiful place.

Sometimes I think a good camera make the difference (I shot with a compact camera not so expensive!) but your photo are perfect! Even the most difficult subjects or landscapes looks "clean", like they were painted.

what stands out the most about this scene, is the balance of lightness and darkness.
