Photographer's Note

This site was declared “Patrimony of the Humanity” in 1993 by UNESCO. The church stands out by its magnitude, although the building was never finished constructing due to the expulsion of the Jesuits (year 1767). It would have been one of the greatest churches of the time. The reduction of Jesus is unique in its architectonic design.

The Mission of Jesús del Tavarangüé includes a 5 hectares property, containing a sample of the architecture of the end of the Jesuit activity in the Missions.
