Photographer’s Note
Named after lunarlike landforms eroded by centuries of flood and wind, this valley is found 15 km from San Pedro de Atacama and is part of Cordillera de la Sal. Valley flor was once a bottom of a lake.
Valle de la Luna is a part of the Reserva Nacional Los Flamencos and was declared a Nature Sanctuary in 1982 for its great natural beauty.
