Photographer's Note

These are some buildings at Avenida Paulista, one of the most important avenues of São Paulo, full of business buildings. The avenue is also one of the highest points of the city, as you can see from my previous panorama picture.

At the beginning of XXth Century, this avenue was close to the city limits, and rich coffee farmers built their home palaces there. At that time, coffee was the main economical activity in Brazil, and it definetely contributed to start up the developement of São Paulo's economy. Almost all of the palaces were put down, and high buildings were done in their place. And today it can be considered part of the extended center of the city.

It was a sunny cold afternoon, quite common at this month (though today it's raining a fact it's been raining cats and dogs for the last three days, this is quite unusual during winter).
