Caraguá is considered the capital of the North Coast due to his/her geographical location and to his/her diversified trade. The city, with about 70 thousand inhabitants, he/she lives of the tourism. In the lingering holidays and season of vacations the city receives thousands of tourists.

Caraguá has good hotels, lodgings and restaurants. The city possesses 18 beaches, preserved Atlantic forest and countless options of walks. The night life of Caraguá is considered the most lively of the area, with discos, bars and kiosks with live music.
