Photographer's Note

This picture of Cerro Torre was taken with my point and click camera on a trip to Patagonia. Cerro Torre is found in Los Glaciares National Park, southern Argentina, and is part of the stunning Fitzroy range. We were exceptionally lucky with the weather as some trekkers we encountered said it had been snowing all week up until that day, so i am very thankful we had a good break with the weather. The mountain is also supposed to be one of the most challenging climbs in the world. As well as having a nearly vertical rock face, the weather is notoriously changeable in Patagonia with extremely strong winds. Anyone successful in climbing Cerro Torre must be of the highest calibre...
