Photographer's Note

A man reads the paper whilst having a snack in a branch of Pie Face in Melbourne, Australia. This particular shop was located in the Southern Cross Railway Station.

The image is not especially interesting other than a reminder of my visit to Australia. However, it appears that this chain of stores went into voluntary administration in November 2014, some two months after this picture was taken.

According to Wikipedia, Pie Face is facing legal action both in Australia and the US. The firm secured financing in December 2014 and will continue trading. However, it will focus mainly on wholesale and retail sales.

I am not sure whether this branch continues to trade or not, some at least seem to have closed down.

The stores specialised in the sales of coffee, Australian meat pies, soft drinks. I cannot testify as to the meat pies, but the coffee was more than acceptable.
