Photographer's Note

This is the oldest building in Queensland, dating from 1828. The convict settlement was established in 1824. The sails are long gone, but you can see a sketch in the workshop together with detailed information. The ubiquitous jacaranda trees are flowering here, too. The orange flowering tree behind it is a silky oak. In the bg is the 74 level tower of the Meriton Suites apartment block. Looks smaller than it is because the fg tower is on top of a small hill.
