Photographer's Note

Spectacular multicolored rock formations on sandstone cliffs rise dramatically from Lake Superior in Munising, Michigan. The colors are due to minerals in the rocks. Set against the crystal clear blue waters of the lake, these rocks create abstract images. The best (and only) way to see these pictured rocks is from the lake - on a boat or a cruise ship ... or kayaking like this group chose to do. Aside from the rocks, there are beaches, sand dunes, water falls, wildlife and forest to be explored along the Lake Superior shoreline.

Post processing: cropping, auto contrast, auto levels and unsharp mask.
