Photographer's Note

Situated in the heart of the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, White Pocket is a fantasy land of rock formations, sand, and wind whipped shrubs and trees. It's located near Coyote Butte and so shares the same twisted sandstone formation.

This twisted trunk and the hive-like rock formation in the background drew my camera. I thought of getting even lower to capture the sun through the portal as well, but think this worked even better.

ISO 200, 1/800th second at f/18, 14mm focal length
