Viva Las Vegas
Photo #100 in my 2017 Canada and USA Travelogue

Within an hour after uploading my previous photo, my first capture from Las Vegas, I heard the song Viva Las Vegas by Elvis “The King” Presley on the radio. Quite a coincidence, as Elvis is pretty omnipresent in Vegas. Apart from several Elvis impersonators around The Strip, you can also marry in Elvis style in one of the many wedding chapels, like the Graceland Wedding Chapel in the WS, which I found on South Las Vegas Boulevard.

The main photo shows the Fremont Street Experience, which is located in downtown Las Vegas (unlike the Las Vegas Strip, which technically isn’t even located in Las Vegas itself). The central attraction is a barrel vault canopy, called Viva Vision, 450 metres in length and covered in 12.5 million LED lights. The Fremont Street Experience is home to many casinos, several concert stages and SlotZilla, a slot machine-inspired zip line attraction. On two levels people can fly down half (lower level, 24 metres above the ground) or the entire length (upper level, 35 metres) of Fremont Street Experience.
